How We Build

We fabricate and install to meet or exceed AWI Section 10, AWS, and ANSI/BHMA A156.9 standards. From core materials to hardware, every detail is chosen for commercial performance and long-term durability.

Core Materials & Construction Methods

We build using frameless, full-overlay construction with CNC-machined components for precision. Cabinet boxes are assembled with butt-joint screw construction in accordance with AWI Section 10 - Casework.

  • Core Materials:

    • Industrial particleboard meeting ANSI A208.1, Type M3 (standard)

    • Plywood core available as an upgrade

    • MDF is not used for cabinet box construction in our standard fabrication because of its lower fastener strength and moisture resistance

  • Cabinet Backs & Cleats:

    • ¼″ white melamine MDF backs

    • ½″ plywood hanging cleats cut at 45° for secure wall installation

  • Shelves:

    • ¾″ fixed shelves, edge-banded on the front

    • Adjustable shelves with CNC line-bore and 5 mm metal shelf pins (4 per shelf)

  • Edge Banding:

    • All exposed cabinet edges receive PVC banding, applied to doors, drawer fronts, and exposed cabinet edges

  • Plastic Laminate Countertops:

    • MDF core with plywood runners for rigidity

    • 1½″ thick with 4″ laminate backsplash and side splashes as needed

    • Plywood core used at sink areas for strength and moisture resistance

➤ These materials and methods are selected for long-term durability, structural performance, and precise fit on commercial projects.

Hardware Standards

We use commercial-grade, ANSI/BHMA-compliant hardware for consistent performance in daily use.

  • Hinges:

    • Salice soft-close concealed Euro hinges, press-in mounted with 5 mm expandable anchors

    • Comply with AWI Section 10 and ANSI/BHMA A156.9

  • Drawer System:

    • GRASS Z-Box 6023 metal drawer system

    • Full-extension under-mount slides, integrated soft-close, 100 lb dynamic load

    • ANSI/BHMA Grade 1HD performance

  • Doors & Fronts:

    • Flat panel fronts with MDF or particleboard cores, HPL faces, and PVC edge banding

  • Pulls / Decorative Hardware:

    • 3½″ wire pulls in brushed chrome or nickel finish (decorative, not ANSI/BHMA rated), unless otherwise specified

ADA & Code Compliance

IMG_1727.JPG

We fabricate and install casework to meet ADA accessibility guidelines when required by project drawings and specs.

This includes:

  • Adjusting cabinet and countertop heights, toe spaces, and clearances for accessible locations

  • Providing ADA-compliant sink and work areas where indicated
